El Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a holiday to celebrate and honor our loved ones who have passed away. It is a time to celebrate their life and honor them by creating beautiful altars with items that remind us of them such as sugar skulls, photographs, and favorite foods. I remember when I was younger seeing the altars that my grandmothers created for their loved ones who passed away. The festival in Atlanta was great reminder of this celebration because I had not experienced it in many years. The dance performances were beautiful and the authentic Mexican food throughout the festival made me feel like I was in Mexico. Enjoy the moments that I captured at the festival and make plans to attend next year!
My sister and I celebrated her 22nd birthday by going to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. We have both been wanting to go to Iris Van Herpen's Transforming Fashion exhibit, and we thought that it would be perfect to go on her birthday. Iris Van Herpen creates beautiful fashion using 3D printing. It was so inspiring to see the different exhibits, and I look forward to going back soon!
I'm a little late on this post... 3 weeks late to be exact! I finally graduated and it feels amazing!!! I have been TRYING to enjoy having free time and one less responsibility. So far, that is not working out. I have to admit that I do love to work, planning, to-do lists, deadlines, and having multiple responsibilities. I'm excited to see what the future has in store for me and where I will go with my career. The possibilities are endless and I am proud to be a graduate with a degree in fashion marketing. How is awesome is that? I combine my love for fashion and marketing! My portfolio show was great and I want to share a few pictures from my portfolio show set-up and a mini photo shoot that I did for the project! Thank you for stopping by and enjoy!
p.s. I want to thank Blanca and Alyssa for being wonderful models!
I finally decided to sit down and take a few minutes to share my weekend trip to Isle of Palms and Charleston. I was a volunteer at Charleston Fashion Week and stayed in Isle of Palms. It was my first time in South Carolina, and I fell in love with both Isle of Palms and Charleston. Isle of Palms has a beautiful beach and it is only 25 minutes away from Charleston. Charleston has beautiful historic architecture and it is full of inspiration. I can't wait to go back to South Carolina and explore more because Charleston is a beautiful city. Enjoy a few pictures from my trip!
